🎙️ Spokora — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Spokora ("we") provides a Chrome extension that translates X (Twitter) Spaces live, and translated voice rooms that people can join from a browser. This policy explains what data is processed, why, and with whom it is shared.
1. Summary
- We do not record or store audio.
- We do not store transcripts or translations on our servers. They are passed through in real time and then discarded.
- We store only what is needed to run the service: a random install ID, your usage time and plan, payment records, and basic room records.
- We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
2. What we process and why
Space translation (extension)
- Tab audio: only after you press "Start translating", the extension captures the audio of the current X tab and streams it to our server, which forwards it to our speech-to-text provider. Capture stops when you press "Stop", close the tab, or your time runs out.
- Text: the recognized sentences are sent to our translation provider and the translation is shown in the panel on your screen. The transcript is kept only in your browser; you may download it yourself.
- Speaker names you type into the panel stay in your browser.
Translated voice rooms
- Microphone audio is sent directly between participants' browsers (peer-to-peer WebRTC). Each participant's own microphone audio is also streamed to our speech-to-text provider so it can be translated for the others.
- Translations are created by our translation provider and may be read aloud using a text-to-speech provider.
- Room records: room code, the optional display name you enter, your chosen language, join/payment status, and start/end times.
Account and payments
- Install ID: a random identifier created by the extension. It is not linked to your X account, name or email.
- Usage: remaining time, time used, current plan and its expiry.
- IP address: stored when an install ID is first registered, only to limit abuse of the free trial.
- Payments are made in USDC on the Solana blockchain. We store the amount, the paying wallet address and the transaction signature. Blockchain transactions are public by nature. Supporter NFTs are sent to the paying wallet.
3. Service providers
We use the following providers only to operate the service:
- Cloudflare — hosting, database and room connections.
- Deepgram — speech-to-text. We request that audio is not retained for model training (opt-out of Deepgram's model improvement program); audio is processed only for the duration of the request.
- OpenAI — translation and text-to-speech. API data is not used to train OpenAI's models by default; OpenAI may retain it for a limited time for abuse monitoring.
- Helius and the Solana network — checking that payments have arrived.
- Telegram — internal notifications to the operator about new sign-ups and payments (install ID, plan, amount and paying wallet address).
4. Retention
Account, usage, payment and room records are kept while the service is operating, so that purchased plans keep working and payments can be verified. Audio, transcripts and translations are not stored by us.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can stop translation at any time and uninstall the extension.
- You can ask us to delete the records linked to your install ID (shown at the bottom of the extension popup). Blockchain payments cannot be deleted from the public ledger.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK or Türkiye), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to processing. Contact us to exercise them.
6. Other people's voices
Spaces and voice rooms contain other people's speech. Use Spokora only where you are allowed to listen, and let the people in your room know that live translation is active.
7. Children
Spokora is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly process their data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
